Audi S5 coolant leak and thermostat housing nightmare, any good indie in Abu Dhabi?
My 2018 S5 started leaving a small puddle of pinkish fluid on the garage floor about a week ago and I figured it was just the water pump weeping which I know is basically a rite of passage for this engine but when I popped the hood the other day I could actually smell coolant from the front of the motor near the thermostat housing and now I’m pretty sure it’s that whole plastic assembly cracking like they all eventually do in this heat, I took it to the dealer on Airport Road just to get an estimate and they quoted me a number that made me physically recoil because apparently you have to remove half the front end to get to the thing and they wanted to replace the water pump and the thermostat and the crossover pipe all at once as a preventative measure which I get in theory but my bank account is still recovering from the last service, so now I’m on the hunt for a solid independent shop that actually knows their way around the EA839 engine and won’t just treat it like a fancy Volkswagen while still using genuine or at least OE quality parts, I was digging around online trying to find someplace that lists Audi repair and maintenance services Abu Dhabi specifically because I don’t want to end up at a garage that mostly works on Japanese commuters and then act surprised when the supercharger belt routing or the vacuum line placement is slightly different on this thing, anyone have a go to guy here in AD who’s reasonable but won’t cut corners because I’m really not trying to have the same plastic housing crack again in eighteen months from some cheap aftermarket clone part.
